Or if it is about Oedipus . . .

Monday, October 30, 2006

In the play Oedipus the King, Oedipus unkowingly kills his father. He obviously commits this act by accident because he didn't no the man he killed was his father. Have you ever done anything that seemed to be the right thing to do at the time, but later you found out previously unknown things that changed the way you view the situation? Would yo go aback and change what you did?

Prompt 1
many people find items that have importance to them. If you could carry an item to war, what would you bring and why?

Prompt 2
If a war story is never moral, how is a reader of The things they carried supposed to believe what Tim O'Brien is saying. With him saying what he has said about the war stories do you believe anything about this book? Do you take offence for him to describe a war story in that way and then just tell a lot about himself, all in the same book?

Are You Scared of the Future?

So what will happen to you all after you graduate this Spring? Do you have big plans? Little plans? No plans?
Tomorrow, the guidance counselors will come and talk to us about next year. Before they arrive, it is important for us to think about what we want to do. Please blog a reflection on what you plan on doing next year. Discuss your ideal plan, a plan that is less ideal but still pretty attractive, and a plan for a future in which things don't turn out as you hope.

I always appreciate it when you read and respond to each others' blogs.
